Hi

I have a 2005 Galaxy Zetec and the blower is not working. Can anyone tell me if this could be the ballast resistor or the actual blower. Also if the latter how big a job.??? :) :D

Usually you'll find that the blower will only operate on a particular setting ie on position 2 if a ballast resistor has gone. If yours is not working on any position then I would try fuses first before looking at changing the fan motor.

If its not the fuse then check the resistor.

Easily found behind the glovebox ( which is removable without tools ).

The fan is also there as well and easily accesable.

If the fault is the resistor then check it is not just the connections burnt out, as replacing the rsistor will only lead to them burning out again.

If you have auto air con then substitute "hedgehog" for resistor.

Thanks for that. Have gone through it all and it turns out to be the fan/blower unit itself. Rip off price from [b]"frauds" but got a new one from Eurocarparts at half the cost!!!
